Flux comprises of interactive portals that exist in different places. The portals are links across the city — made up of fragmented blocks that exist in two opposite states. The blocks invite people on each side to discover and play with the portal. They also provide a glimpse at the other and their space. The goal of Flux is to invite a sense of curiosity and enjoyment through the juxtaposition of here and there.

Code for our project
In case you were wondering how we run the webcam with the Arduinos, here’s the code. It’s code for each one of the Arduino boards running a pair of boxes, and the shell scripts that start twelve MPlayer instances and make them listen to the Arduinos (which are USB-plugged). Runs on Linux.
Another longer video from the pre-finishing model.
Fully-working, need to do the finishing, photos, videos, try not to trip the wires over…
It kinda… works!
When we press the switch, the Arduino simultaneously signals to move the motors and to tell the computer to switch the video! Next step: using the actual switches, motors and boxes… We’ll have to adjust the size of the video boxes, as well as make the speed of the video change coordinate with the motor speed.
2 Boxes connected together working…
It works!
We built a frame with the motor attached to the frame. And then cams that will push the box in and out.
